The Merrie Month of May

We are now enjoying the finest weather San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico has to offer!

May is always a beautiful time of year. Sandwiched between the chilly nights of winter and the warmer weather and the first rains of June.

Looking back on April 2011, the weather was a repeat of previous years here at the weather station where our records now go back to 2007. (Only a partial month of April 2007 is on record as your humble servant arrived late that month with the Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station.)

Average daytime high temperatures last month were in the low to mid 70’s as in previous years. The high for the month was 85 on the 7th. Nighttime lows hovered in the mid to upper 50s.

Regarding coming attractions (predictions?), expect daytime highs in May to be in the low 80s and nighttime lows in the high 60s. Not too bad!

Rain in May? Not. Very unlikely. No matter what your memory may be telling you. The only recorded rain since 2007 is from last year when there was a ‘trace’ on May 3rd (.01 inch) and in 2009 when there was a quarter of an inch (.25 inch) on the 20th.

Semana Santa with all the colorful tents this year has come and gone. We can now reclaim “our” beach! And we will enjoy some of the finest weather in the world right here in our mostly tranquil pueblo.

Happy Labor Day!
