Coldest Month of the Year in San Pancho

My best friend of several years asked me this week about which month is the coldest here in our sunny pueblo. Good question from someone who has a habit of asking tough questions.

A quick glance at the five year statistics from the San Pancho Weather Station (check them out here) narrows it down to January or February. You don’t really need a weather station to suspect that.

If you consider the average daily temperature for the past five years (all the hourly read ins divided by 24) January comes in at 70 degrees. February at 69. Neck and neck!

Averaging the low temperatures for the same time period the January reading is 55 and February is 57. Again, nearly a draw.

To be completely correct about this, the February readings for this year only includes one week as of this writing, so the differences between the two months might be less. But for now, if is safe to tell you friends that January and February are the coldest months of the year in San Pancho.

But I wouldn’t make a big issue of it if they live in the Northeast and have just come in from shoveling two feet of snow.

There are tons of statistics about the San Pancho weather in the link above and I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check them out.
