Get Ready for Summer-Like Weather

May is here and San Pancho is taking on its summer mood. Cinqo de Mayo was probably the quietest day in the village since last summer. The holiday may be a big deal in the States, but it quietly passed by this part of the Riviera Nayarit.

April was a cloudy month with the average temperature rising to 75, compared to 73 in March. This month will see another two degree jump in that reading. There was no rain in April and only a small chance of measurable precipitation this month. May 2012 and May 2009 are the only two recent years that had measurable rainfall. However, you can bank on rain for June.

The San Pancho Weather Station is now celebrating its sixth anniversary here. Formerly known as the San Miguel Weather Station during its first incarnation, it is fun to watch the weather trends year to year and the historical statistics, though six years isn’t a big enough database to talk about long term trends.
