Feels Like 108 Degrees in San Pancho – Take our Poll

July 27 at 2 o’clock and it felt like 108 degrees. To be exact: the Heat Index hit 108.4 degrees F°. That was the feel-like temperature that Saturday afternoon in our tranquil pueblo on the Riviera Nayarit. That’s the record high heat index for 2013. So far. Expect higher heat index readings in August. It will probably be in the low 100’s.

Other 2013 records set during July:

High Temperature 91.6 on July 26 at 4:15 pm

High UV of 10.8 on July 7 at 2 p.m. (on the UV scale of 1 to 10, this is reading is considered extremely dangerous)

Rainfall for the month of July was 8.29 inches, which brings our yearly total so far to nearly 12 inches. A friend asked last week if that was less than Puerto Vallarta received. The weather station at Cafe Romain mid-town indicates 28 inches for the month. So the answer, for last month anyway, is a resounding “yes”! Generally speaking it is true that Vallarta receives more rain than San Pancho. The weather station located at La Cruz, for example, recorded much less rain than PV.

It is clear that monthly rainfall varies greatly from year to year. As “they” say, a chart is worth a thousand words. Here’s the rainfall in San Francisco, Nayarit, MX for July since 2008 as recorded by the San Pancho Weather Station:

‘Nuff said.
