The San Pancho Weather Week that Was

We had more than an inch of rain, the all time high temperature ever recorded in San Pancho and the coolest overnight temperature in nearly six months. That was the week just ended. Is this a typical November week weather-wise? Let’s talk about it.

Rain in November isn’t extraordinary, but 1.14 inches (2.89 cm) is an all-time record amount for the 11th month at the San Pancho Weather Station. It is the most we’ve had in our nearly six years of archived information. While I doubt we’ll see another significant storm this year, we’re only halfway through the month! December rain is also possible.November Rain in San Pancho

Another all-time record set this month: the highest temperature ever recorded at the Station: 96.8 F (36 C) at 2:28 p.m., November 13.

And rounding out our weather readings hat-trick for the month, the 13th was also the coolest morning since June 31: 70.1 F (21.2 C). Nearly six months since the overnight low had dipped to 70.

If you’ve been following our temperature vs. heat index chart on the home page of the San Pancho Weather Station, you’ll see that except for the 13th, a longer-term cooling trend is setting in.

As we’ve said here earlier in the month, maybe the cooler weather is on the way to stay. The beautiful deep blue skies today sure make it feel that way!
