Offline in the San Pancho Rain

It seems that when it rains the internet in San Pancho slows to a near-halt.

Technically, there should be no connection between internet speed (normal speed in San Pancho is like molasses in February in New England) and rain in San Pancho.

Early February 1, 2015, our current rain event first began. Within an hour the Weather Station and the Internet stopped talking to each other. To put it succinctly, the San Pancho Weather Station was offline for two days, our longest downtime in eight years!

It seems this sort of thing happens when we are have some unusual, if not unique, weather. Rain is not unheard of in February. There’s 2012 when we had four inches. And 2010 when 3 inches fell. The other Februaries (sp?) since 2008 show only a trace of precipitation.

Sunday February 1 we had an inch of rain. Yesterday, February 2, we had another two inches. Some of it a downpour of the cats and dogs variety.

If you are here on vacation, even if only for this past three day Constitution Day weekend, we hope your visit was enjoyable in spite of the rain.

If you’re looking for a vacation that offers a no-rain guarantee, choose March or April in San Pancho. We have never, ever, in the last seven years had any rain in those two months.
